Joel Tarling is an artist working in illustration, graphic design and early childhood education.

Joel has worked on graphic design and illustration projects with clients including Inner West Council, Wave Consulting, 33 Creative, Koori Curriculum, Sydney University, Federation Press, Social Change Media, Environmental Protection Agency NSW, and for various bands such as Frenzal Rhomb, Trout Fishing In Quebec, Old Spice Boys and Mic Conway.

At high school he did work experience with renowned Sydney artist Martin Sharp, and wrote a series of comic zines called “Dopey Tales”. Since 2020, he has been writing and illustrating children’s picture books, including “Alex’s House” and “Alex’s Hotel”. Both are available on Amazon.
