BOSTON–Kicking off the 2018-2019 academic year, Emmanuel College has opened the New Residence Hall, its largest building ever on campus, and welcomed the largest first-year class in the College’s nearly 100-year history.

Culminating a two-year-long project, the opening of the 18-story, 692-bed, apartment-style residence hall marks a historic step by the College to enhance the student experience. Providing housing to upper-class students, the multi-tower residence hall offers sweeping views of Boston as well as two-bedroom apartments that house four students each and studio apartments, all of which include in-unit bathrooms, living rooms and kitchens.

The New Residence Hall also offers common areas and amenities open to all students, namely a Dunkin’ Donuts with café seating and Joe Di’s Food Mart (both opening in late September), the Margaret L. McKenna ’83 Media Center, a Dance Studio, a Fitness Center, various lounges and patio space, and group study rooms. The open and welcoming ground floor enhances the vibrancy of the campus and serves as a gathering space for the entire Emmanuel community. Here students socialize, study, create and relax-anytime, day or night.

Further adding to the liveliness of Emmanuel’s campus, the College has welcomed more than 650 new students, including first-year and transfer students. The Class of 2022 now represents the largest first-year class in Emmanuel College’s history.
