My iMac just has a black screen was using it then all of a sudden it just turns black so I turn off the pc and turn it back on to see it just black like pitch black likes is off and I can’t seem to get the display to turn on I tried restarting it that doesn’t work need help

Like any old machine parts will fail, the most used part on your computer is it's display so if it's old it stands to reason that can fail. It's similar to a car, what wears out are moving parts like tires and brakes.
I see it's a 2013 which is now considered obsolete. If the damage is the display or backlight I'd guess a repair would be about $500 or more. If I am correct, I'd spend that money on it's replacement rather than fixing an obsolete machine that cannot run current versions of Mac OS.
It is likely a hardware issue such as a failed display or failed backlight. Please google how to tell the difference and then test it. Either issue will require that you take the computer to your local AASP to have the computer repaired.
That Mac is vintage, so Apple probably can't even repair it.
It might be time to look for a new Mac, unfortunately.

Ok so I have to get it fix got it. but one more question does this happen a if ur iMac is old because my Mac is pretty old
