Description
A large bovid that is covered with grizzled-gray to brownish-gray fur. The undercoat is thick and woolly and is covered by black guard hairs that are longer and more coarse. The male has a short, semi-erect mane. Limbs are light brown or tan. Ventral aspect of throat is generally white and the undersides are pale-grey to white.

          Distribution In Assam

          Common in Karbi Plateau (Karbi-Anglong), Barail Range (Cachar and Dima Hasao district). Also found in Himalayan foothills in Lakhimpur and Dhemaji district as well as in the hills of southern Cachar, Hailakandi and Karimganj district. Also found in Patkai foothills of Tinsukia and Dibrugarh district.
