The AMATI speakers were originally conceptualized by world famous audio engineer, Roy Allison, one of the founders of AR which designed the AR LST - Laboratory Standard Transducer. The speaker design was later purchased by Mark Levinson, the founder of CELLO LTD. and upgraded with high-end redesigned crossover and DynAudio drivers from Denmark. This set of speaker cabinetry were purchased without its drivers and internal electronics when the factory closed and remained sealed in storage until early 2013. The state-of-the-art speaker cabinetry was done at CELLO, which are 100% exquisite light wood in glossy lacquer finish. With the advent of new digital technology and home theater, these AMATI design speakers a new redesigned state-of-the-art crossover and drivers, thus improving its natural tonal balance, wide dynamic range, extended response, improved efficiency, higher reliability, musical realism, finishing and quality construction. Truly 21st. century studio laboratory standards that both Allison and Levinson would be proud of. Originally, the Cello Amati's sold for $10k during the 90's.
