3D Interpretation of Zdzisław Beksiński's "The Flute"

I know his painting is officially untitiled , but it is commonly reffered to as "The Flute" or "The Horn"

One of my favourite artists, his use of repeating anatomy is both terrifying and endlessly compelling. I decided to try to recreate the flute in 3D and experiment with ways of presenting it, partially as a kind of "Master Study" and partly to reiterate my practice in compiling render passes in photoshop.
Using Blur to soften the edges of the render, an attempt to give it a more ethereal look. I also used film grain on top to try to add some illusion of detail over what was a relatively smooth sculpt in areas that werent the hands. I know it is a cheap and easy effect but i think it adds to the image.
Without the Iris Blur
A colder colour palette.
Without the noise filter.
Before i adjusted the layers, bringing in the shadows, and gave it a warmer hue.
An example of some of the different render passes i used to compile the final render.
