Few cars are as iconic in Australia quite like the Holden Torana and example is currently up for sale courtesy of Australian Muscle Car Sales.

Holden produced the Torano between 1967 and 1979, selling the car in a number of different guises across three generations. This is a 1976 LX SS Hatchback model painted Tuxedo Black and is thought to be one of just 10 like it.

The exterior of this car has been equipped with the desirable A9X option that includes a rear-facing bonnet scoop, flared wheel arches, chrome bumpers, and wider wheels. Of the nine other Torano SS models built like this one, just two others had a 4-speed manual transmission like this example.

Further adding to the desirability of the car is the fact that it was rotisserie restored in 2018 and brought back to its original condition. It retains the original 5.0-liter L31 V8 engine, although it has been fully rebuilt. The original gearbox and limited-slip differential have also been retained and reconditioned.

The cabin of the Torana is finished in slate black and all the gauges are said to be in working order. It also features an AM radio and a Clarion cassette player. Curiously, no mileage details are mentioned in the listing.

The car carries a sticker price of AU$185,000 (US$145,000), which is quite hefty, but given the growing demand for rare and desirable Aussie-built performance cars Down Under, we think a collector might snap it up anyway.
