Fashion For Your Car

Autofashion USA was born out of enthusiasts who were tired of the subpar automotive components that are often found on the aftermarket and unfortunately passed along to unsuspecting consumers. To combat this ever-present problem, Autofashion USA was created to provide quality products for various vehicles and not only offer them at reasonable prices but to also work with customers to turn their automotive visions into reality. These projects tend to bring folks closer together, and this Lexus GS300 is a perfect example of that as it was originally owned by Autofashion founder Freddie Fernandez before being sold to JC Williams and subsequently modded by Freddie and the gang to JC's liking.

For Sale By Owner

Under Freddie's ownership the Lexus served as a daily driver, so nothing too extraordinary had been done to it besides a set of lowering springs, an audio system, and set of wheels to set it apart from a stock GS300. JC would eventually buy the car from Freddie and immediately set out to make it his own. First order of business was to ditch the spring suspension setup in favor of an air suspension kit because JC wanted a more comfortable ride. Anyone familiar with slamming a car will completely understand JC's concerns of preserving his kidneys by eliminating the jarring ride that accompanies a static suspension setup that has been altered for the perfect stance.

Autofashion To The Rescue

The next step in JC's build was to install an Aimgain body kit to which the entire body received a full paint respray. He claims he swapped wheels several times, but no matter the combo, he kept feeling as if the car looked dull and unexciting. At this point, Freddie stepped back in and asked JC how he felt about Mode Parfume, a Japanese body and aero kit product line that Autofashion has established a great working relationship with. After bouncing ideas back and forth with Freddie, all systems were go to allow Autofashion do a complete build on the GS300.

Setting The Stance

With the car back at Autofashion, Freddie and the boys tackled the dull body issue by installing a much more aggressive Mode Parfume body kit that features numerous tasty bits including the sleek diffuser-like enclosure underneath the rear bumper. Once installed, the car was again painted in a smooth yet understated gray finish. Freddie opted to kick the air suspension setup up a notch by installing a KAZ-SUS air ride kit that allowed the car to be lowered even further than before while also offering damping adjustments to fine tune the ride to JC's liking. A contrasting set of Work Meister S1 3-piece wheels were added as a nice finishing touch to the exterior.

Comfort For Cruising

The interior is very much a stock Lexus affair with period correct wood-look trim accents, but a set of shag seat coverings have been added and are apparently the most comfortable seats that "almost make me [JC] want to fall asleep while driving." The uprated stereo setup has also remained intact with a well-organized subwoofer/amplifier/monitor neatly placed in the trunk to allow JC to cruise in style or crank up the jams when out on the show circuit.

Performance To Boot

The performance was not at the forefront of the build, but Autofashion and JC wanted to squeeze a bit more power out of the car. Instead of going with the ever-popular turbo route, JC and Autofashion opted for boost from a supercharger setup by Procharger and matched it up with a Toyomoto exhaust header coupled to a Mode Parfume exhaust system. A touch of magenta paint and a set of Buddha Concepts engine panels went a long way in creating a presentable engine bay. If you're gonna go faster, you need to stop faster too, so a set of oversized Project Mu brake calipers along with 2-piece brake rotors were installed to reign in the extra ponies. In the end, this Lexus GS300 shows us the professionalism and attention to detail that Autofashion has come to be known for while also highlighting the working relationship that Freddie and JC shared to create a car that is anything but dull.
