Artist

Place of birth: Cape Barren Island

Year of birth: 1946

Lived in Launceston: 53 years

I moved to Launceston in 1972 from Cape Barron and Flinders Island to provide my children wider access to a range education and skills that included, sport, scouts and dance.
As my children went to college, I did a Bridging Course at the University of Tasmania followed by a Diploma then a Degree for a Bachelor of Fine Arts. I also did a Traineeship in Gallery Studies and Resource Management. These qualification and experience enabled me to take in several Community Programs and participated in my first national exhibition at Ivan Doherty Gallery, NSW. The resulting solo exhibition toured Nationally for 4 years and has resulted in a series of commissions from both the private and corporate sectors.

Moving to Launceston, for my children’s education has opened up opportunities for myself as an artist.
