A Day in the Life
Philip J. Fry - New York native born in the 20th Century. Working as a cycling Pizza Delivery Boy who often got pranked with orders for names like I. C. Weiner and Seymour Asses. Fry was dating a cheating girlfriend named Michelle and found much lacking from his life in the 20th century. Consequently, the I. C. Weiner prank ended up getting Fry accidentally trapped in a cryogenics chamber for 1000 years but opened up opportunities that would have othwerwise been impossible.
As a delivery boy at a small interplanetary package delivery business owned by his sexacentenarian nephew, with an apartment in the closet of an alcoholic, abusive, whore-mongering robot, Fry envies no man. What he lacks in mental prowess he makes up for in being alive. With a poor work ethic and a remarkable resistance to thought, Fry often finds himself in situations beyond his control reqiring the help of others to help him out of trouble - whether that situation is delivering a package, putting on a belt, or being the King of an entire planet.
Romance
Fry eternally pines for the cyclopian captain of their package delivery team. Though often bumbling in his attempts to woo her, he has shown notable resourcefulness in expressing his affection for her, and proven time and again the sincerity of his feelings for her. Despite notable successes, he has yet to permanently win her heart (in Universe A). Beyond this continuous romantic fixation, Fry's other romantic forays have included: Michelle, his ex-girlfriend from the 20th century (He dated her again in the 30th century, though she left him for Pauly Shore); Amy Wong; a red-head from the 21st century; Petunia, a well traveled, aging blonde; Morgan Proctor, Bureaucrat Grade 19; various monstrous Amazonian women; Colleen, polygamous chief of police; and a radiator.
Friendships
Fry spends much of his time with his robotic roommate and best friend Bender; they primarily like to watch TV and drink.
Trivia
Notable fact unique to Fry among all other existing creatures, is that his brain lacks the "Delta Brainwave", a brainwave inherent to all intelligent life. This appears to make him invulnerable to mind reading and certain psionic attacks. This wholly unique abnormality stems from the fact that Fry is his own grandfather - with everything that implies.
Fry's appearance is based on that of James Dean's character "Jim Stark" in Rebel without a cause.
Fry often sings or hums the song "Walking on Sunshine" by Katrina and the Waves.
Fry's first name wasn't originally Philip, but was selected in honor of Phil Hartman who had died before he was able to lend his voice to the show.
