I was a staff photographer from July 1, 1962 to March 31, 1994. In that time I photographed and had published with my byline 46 articles in NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC

and over 2,000 of my photos have been used in all the Society’s publications.

It was my good fortune to spend a majority of that time working under the direction of Robert E. Gilka the Director of Photography.

The years I worked there were so interesting that in 2013 I published the book BEING THERE written by the historian of NGS, Mark Collins Jenkins about those golden times
