The slipper was created by Swarovski under the direction of Academy Award-winning costume designer Sandy Powell. It was hewn from solid Swarovski crystal and features 221 facets in a light-reflecting Crystal Blue Aurora Borealis coating. The exhibition Shoes: Pleasure and Pain opens to the public on 13 June 2015 and runs to 31 January 2016.
